About the function space

Situated on the corner of Intake and Kamerunga Roads Redlynch, The Red Beret Hotel was built in the early 1900s as the Redlynch Hotel. Former owner Max Gorman renamed the venue after his regiment in the army. These days, the pub is referred to in typical friendly fashion by locals as the Red Hat or just The Hat.

Throughout the ensuing years the historic Red Beret has undergone many facelifts whilst maintaining the iconic Queenslander feel that makes it a true Far North Queensland hotel.

Upstairs in what used to house the original lodging rooms, you will find the Madisons Room 1, complete with an exclusive bar and all the trimmings for your next party. It also boasts a lift, courtesy coach and disabled bathrooms.

Further conditions

Standard room decor that is included in room hire is: linen, tables, chairs, a variety of organza sashes as table runners, cocktail table covers and a coloured sash, candles and basic centrepieces. You are more than welcome to come in and decorate the room on the day and add any personal touches.

Chair covers are available for an additional $2 each, and the venue can add a coloured band or sash for an extra $1 per chair. Helium balloons are $16 per arrangement, each arrangement consisting of 6 balloons.

Minors must wear a wristband (supplied by us) at all times.


Underage policy

Underage guests are permitted until 10pm, providing the underage guest is in the company of a responsible adult who is responsibly supervising them. One separate responsible adult per each underage guest.
