About the function space

The Alma satisfied our first thirsty pub goers way back in 1855, and has become the flagship pub of the Eastern suburbs. Today the Alma thrives under the leadership of Crows legends Mark Ricciuto, Tex Walker & Rory Sloane together with the local hoteliers Peter and Jenny Hurley.

Enthusiastic staff are encouraged to go the extra mile to ensure your experience at the Alma is a memorable one.

Upstairs at The Alma is self-contained and stylish. Located on the second floor it comes complete with an enclosed balcony which is heated when required but still allows the ambient stars to light up your party. A private bar with bartenders and private bathroom facilities complete the package.

With countless functions under their belt, the Alma has earned a reputation for first rate function facilities and staff. And great food made fresh in the premises.

We can hire a mixer and turntable for you if required.

If you want to sort out your music in advance, the Nightlife music/video system has a catalogue of over 10,000 songs from 50s to now with the sound through our PA speakers and the clips on the projector screen and plasma. You can enjoy the venue tunes or else supply a Nightlife playlist for $100. Alternatively, you can choose a Nightlife genre free, but you would have no control over the songs played.

18th birthday parties permitted Fridays only.

All your friends receive express entry into your party, regardless of the line out the front. They can also kick on downstairs until 3am free, saving the $5 entry charge.

Underage policy

Underage guests are permitted until 12am, providing the underage guest is in the company of a responsible adult who is responsibly supervising them. One separate responsible adult per each underage guest.
