About the function space

Turf is the site of the 'The Great Bookie Robbery' back in 1976 and is conveniently located in the heart of the city. Its classic fit-out and lovely character make it a comfortable and relaxed venue for a corporate function or a private party.

The Bookies Room is a cosy private room brilliant for smaller gatherings or presentations. It's available for both stand-up cocktail functions or sit-down dinners.

Our chefs can whip you up some amazing finger food which will have your guests talking. Mouthwatering, fine quality bites of heaven!

The stunning timber bar is shared and external to the area, but is just a few short metres away. It is shown in the last photo.

There are no hassles with your music in the Bookies Room, with the following being played to your benefit:

Fridays: Party night! Acoustic duo from 5pm, turning up the volume to a rocking DJ from 9pm 'til late pumping out Dance, Commercial, 80s and 90s. The band and DJ play in the area right next to your party, so make some requests, kick back and kick on!

Saturdays: Live sports commentary generally plays. When there is no sport on, the in-house Nightlife system plays Dance, Commercial, 80s and 90s hits.

The sound from these usually plays in the Bookies Room however can be switched off (however it will still be somewhat audible).
