The best of Japan’s RTDs
Until we can get back on planes to Japan and enjoy their amply boozed-up convenience stores and vending machines, it’s thrilling to see some Japanese pre-mixers hit the stores here. This one doesn’t quite pack the punch of the 9% version, but it’s a great springtime sipper. Not too sweet, and great for picnics.

Refreshing pick-me-up
We are loving this gin and cucumber cocktail as the sunshine comes out. It’s great for spring and summer, and you can pop some in a soda or soft drink container and take it picnicking.

The NSW opening road map is out!
Freedoms for vaccinated adults will come into effect on the Monday after NSW hits the 70 per cent double dose target. They include vertical drinking. Hospitality venues can reopen subject to one person per 4sqm inside and one person per 2sqm outside, with standing while drinking permitted outside. We’ll drink to that!

Fully vaxxed = drinking in bars?
The NSW government is currently in discussion about restricting unvaccinated people from entering hospitality venues, once they re-open (hopefully) this year. The plan would use an app to incorporate vaccine proof with the QR check-in system. It’s a bummer that Australia’s drinking culture has come to this but with Covid not going anywhere any time…
