Partystar Review
Upmarket gastropub popular with dining, a quick look at the online menu will show you these guys mean business. Plenty of quality steaks and more await.
The bright front bar takes up about half the space and beckons with a simple uncluttered layout. The action is well and truly in the cosy dining area though. It's a venue worth trying for those seeking to escape older, more traditional pubs in the neighbourhood. Many locals will undoubtedly be happy with that.

Gastropub is definitely the best term to describe The Station Hotel. Though, there are Gastropubs that basically just operate as yuppie restaurants these days, and there are Gastropubs like The Station, where you can still drop by for a quiet beer or wine when the mood takes you. The back of the building is decked out with dining tables while the front of the building has high chairs/tables ready for the casual drinker. The decor is very modern and clean and the place is brightly lit. Everything about this pub is a little more classy that you're usual local, though it manages to avoid being snobbish somehow. Check out the web site to see their menu and beer/wine list.

Tony's right - the Station is a great new addition to the neighbourhood. It's cosy, the people are really nice, the wine's great ($5 for a very generous glass of decent house white), and it's not the least bit pretentious. The only problem is the number of people who can fit in the bar! I'm always worried - will I get a space to sit and have my chardy?
