Half way down Acland Street is a dark, inviting, polished floor boarded bar called Veludo. It's been around for ages and the layout and the relaxed atmosphere hasn't changed. There's an open fire place down the back, the bar staff are friendly, the toilets signs are trippy, and all in all, it's worth going to if you're on Acland Street or in the St Kilda region.

Veludo on Acland Street is half restaurant and half nightclub. A little known fact is the upstairs Garden Bar was redone in 2023 and, let's face it, the balcony now looks much nicer.

Live music and DJs are a regular at Veludo, generally from Thursday till Sunday. The upstairs Garden Bar is usually where the action happens, from acoustic artists to house DJs that keep the party going into the night. A much-appreciated 3am license on weekends is the insider tip here.

Oh, and they serve breakfast until 3 pm on weekends.
